Luiz Manella is the CFO at Alejo Vet Clinic, bringing a unique blend of athleticism, academic prowess, and technological expertise to the role. Originally from Brazil, Luiz pursued his undergraduate studies in Finance and Applied Mathematics before earning a PhD in Computer Science. His research focuses on artificial intelligence, and he has published numerous articles on the subject. Outside of academia, Luiz has developed applications across various fields, including finance, data science, and AI. At Alejo Vet Clinic, he oversees back-office procedures, including internal accounting, financial modeling, and managing the clinic’s technological infrastructure.

In addition to his professional achievements, Luiz has a diverse range of personal interests. He enjoys business development, artificial intelligence, reading, video games, and cooking. Luiz is married and has a fondness for dining at Chipotle. One of his intriguing aspirations is to visit Chernobyl. His multifaceted skills and dedication make him an essential part of the Alejo Vet Clinic team, ensuring that both the business and technological aspects of the clinic run smoothly.

Kaylee Medina serves as the Front Desk Receptionist and Veterinary Assistant at Alejo Vet Clinic. Born and raised in Miami, FL, Kaylee's passion for animals began early in life. She graduated from Felix Varela Senior High, where she completed the veterinary program and earned her veterinary assistant certification. Kaylee is currently furthering her education at Miami Dade College, aiming to expand her expertise in veterinary care. Her dedication to animal welfare is evident in her daily interactions with both pets and their owners, striving to provide the best possible care and creating a warm and welcoming environment at the clinic.

Outside of her professional life, Kaylee enjoys spending time in the Florida Keys, fishing with her boyfriend, and dreaming of one day owning a boat. A sports enthusiast, she is an avid fan of La U Peruvian soccer team, a passion she cultivated during her three-year stay in Peru. In her leisure time, Kaylee enjoys watching shows on Netflix and scrolling through TikTok for funny veterinary videos. Her favorite dining spots include Texas de Brazil, Aromas del Peru, and Ruson Japanese Steak House. With a sense of humor and a love for new experiences, she hopes to go skydiving in the future. Kaylee's enthusiasm and genuine care make her an integral part of the Alejo Vet Clinic team. Her favorite veterinary joke? "What happens when it rains cats and dogs? You can step on a 'poodle'!"

Born and raised in Miami, I've always had a deep affection for animals and a fascination with their well-being. Becoming a veterinary technician felt like a natural extension of my passion. After completing a veterinary assisting program at my high school, I embarked on a career that allows me to combine my love for animals with the practical skills needed to provide them with the best care possible. From assisting in surgeries to nurturing sick animals back to health, every day brings new challenges and rewards. What I cherish most about my job is the opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of both animals and their human companions. The bond that forms between us and our furry patients is incredibly special—it's what motivates me to continually grow and improve in my role as a caregiver and advocate for animal welfare in Miami and beyond.

Nathalie Morales Avila is a dedicated Receptionist at Alejo Vet Clinic, where she brings her passion for the medical field into her daily interactions with clients and their pets. Born and raised in Miami, FL, Nathalie is currently pursuing a nursing degree at Miami Dade Medical Campus after graduating from G. Holmes Braddock Senior High School. Her role as a veterinary receptionist allows her to combine her love for providing excellent customer service with her interest in learning about animal health and medical procedures. Nathalie values the opportunity to be part of a close-knit team, building relationships with pet owners and ensuring they have a positive experience at the clinic.

In her personal time, Nathalie enjoys reading books and spending time with her family, who originally moved from Cuba to the United States. She is grateful for the sacrifices her family made to provide her and her sisters with better opportunities. A fan of the Miami Heat, Nathalie also loves dining at Crab Du Jour and scrolling through TikTok. Her dream is to travel the world, and she brings a lighthearted spirit to the clinic with her favorite veterinary joke: "Why did the cat sit on the vet’s computer? Because it wanted to keep an eye on the mouse!" Nathalie's enthusiasm for learning and her warm, caring nature make her an invaluable member of the Alejo Vet Clinic team.
